Obese and overweight people are at an increased risk of developing any and all of these conditions:

- High blood pressure
- Heart disease
- Gallbladder problems
- Certain types of cancer (breast, uterine, colon)
- Digestive disorders
- Breathing difficulties (e.g., sleep apnoea, asthma)
- Psychological problems such as depression
- Problems with fertility and pregnancy
- Urinary Incontinence
- Depression, anxiety, and social isolation
In addition to the above health risks which obesity can cause, day-to-day living can be difficult, painful, embrassing and frustrating and more costly. Below are just a handful of issues facing obese and overweight people.
- Normal tasks can become harder when you are obese as movement is restricted
- Simple tasks can see you tire quickly and become short of breath
- Public transport, car and aeroplane seats, theme park rides, chairs in restaurants, and public phone booths can become too small
